What is chlorination?
Latex clothes are almost impossible to put on when dry, they are uncomfortable and grip the skin, so they are put on with talcum powder or silicone. We do not recommend talcum powder – silicone is great, but there is a third option: chlorination.
Chlorination of latex clothing is a special chemical process that slightly alters the latex, making its surface resistant to oxygen in the air and slippery enough to be easily put on by itself.
When do we recommend it?
Basically, anytime you want to deal with your clothing as you would any other clothing. Also, if you don’t have much time to deal with latex, it sits in your closet a lot, you don’t have much time to put it on, or you don’t like talcum powder and silicone. In these cases, chlorination is a very practical solution.
When do we not recommend it?
If you like the soft stretchiness of latex, its slightly sticky rubberiness, especially its characteristic smell and sound, as well as the smooth slipperiness of silicone oil.
Worried that chlorinated latex is impossible or difficult to repair?
We’ve got you covered – we offer professional repairs for chlorinated latex garments as well!
